Our Beginning

Steamworks was founded by Dean Wilson in 2006. Dean had a mission to train individual in steam systems and boiler operations with actionable knowledge. He humbly and successfully carried this torch for many years. In 2020 Dean sold Steamworks to Jon Kapel.

Jon brings a passion for teaching and a fresh perspective on the boiler operator’s success. He has created a training experience unlike any other in the industry. From operator-focused curriculum and career advancement in this high demand skilled trade, Jon has laid the foundation to take Steamworks into a bright future.

Our Future

STEAMWORKS vision for the future is to apply forward-thinking technology and tools. Students acquire knowledge they can act upon to transform their work and steam systems operations. Steamworks believes a student who cannot immediately act upon knowledge has not been properly trained. To yield proficient students requires a structured, interactive, and in-depth curriculum and a commitment to imbue every student in the classroom with learning.
